6. An ant travels due north for a distance of 2.5 m and then due east for 4 km. What is the resultant displacement of the ant, and at what angle is the displacement relative to the east direction?

7. A plane travels due north with a velocity of 60m/s, the plane encounters a 20 m/s crosswind that blows due east. What is the resultant velocity of the plane (hint: draw this out and look for a triangle), and at what angle is the velocity relative to the east direction? 

8. A snail travels 5.0 m at an angle 53.13° north of east. What is the northbound component (y) of its displacement and what is the eastbound (x) component of its displacement (Hint: use trig functions)?

9. A hawk travels 7 km at an angle 30° north of east. What is the northbound component (y) of its displacement and what is the eastbound (x) component of its displacement?

10. A jet travels at 80m/s at an angle 40° north of east. What is the northbound component (y) of its velocity and what is the eastbound (x) component of its velocity?
